Bru Jeune w/ red feather hat- 赤い帽子の女の子
少し間が空きました、梅雨入りしたようですね。皆様お元気にお過ごしでしょうか。
本日の作品は、赤いドレス・羽が生える衣装の作品です。
Bru Jeune（ブリュー・ジュン）という、フランスのサン・ドニ（パリ市のすぐ北側）で設立されたブリュー工房での作品です。出来上がり30cmのビスクドールで、日本の家屋に置くのにも最適なサイズになってます。
私がブリューの人形と出会ったのは、イギリス人の二番目の先生です。ロンドンから南西に車で約二時間M25を走った海辺のリゾート地ブライトンに住んでいました。二日間で一体を仕上げるという教室で、約２３インチ（57.5cm)の大きなえんじ色のロングドレスを着たビスクドールでした。
片手一杯に人形の顔を持ち、細い筆で一本一本眉毛やまつげをペイントします。今では水溶性を使用しておりますので、水で簡単に消すことができますが、当時はオイルペイントといって、顔料を油で溶いたものでしたので消すのに大変苦労しました。この時の先生は夕食まで用意して頂き、皆で一緒にテーブルを囲んだ楽しいビスクドール教室だったのを思い出します。
夏のロンドンは夜１０時近くまで明るいのでドライブも楽しいものです。

Today's doll is Bru Jeune which orignally designed by Bru was made at Saint Denis near Paris, France. 30 cm is a relatively compact size which fits nicely in homes.
I met Bru through my 2nd lesson in England after a 2hr drive through M25, in Brighton, a town near the Sea. I attended a 2-day workshop to create one doll which was 23 inch with a wine-red long dress.
The head was held by the left hand and painted with thin brushes, and eyelashes and eyebrows were also written.
Now I use water based painting but at that time we used oil painting which made it difficult to make corrections.
My teacher prepared dinner for us and we had a lot of fun time which is still a good memory. Summer in London is bright until 10pm and driving in the summer
was also a lot of fun.
This original doll is very famous and you can see many of the same models in google search - but I believe each ones bring a different impression（Bru Jeune - Google 検索） - What kind of impression do you have for my work?
I had an image for Christmas holidays in the Red Shantung Hat with a feather. I paid alot of attention in drawing the lips which shows the childish-like smile .
Antique Pram - アンティークの乳母車
Today I will introduce an item that I bought which is an antique perambulator (baby carriage/cot) that is recently called "buggy" in Japan by young mothers, but "perambulator" or "carriage" seems to be more suitable for this one. I really enjoyed seeing and buying bisque doll-related items at antique shops in U.K.
The size of the carriage is around 60cm, which is relatively large, and when put beside a big doll, the doll will look like she is pushing a pram, which can be very cute. In this photo, I have placed small cupy cupids inside.
I have made 3 different types of cupids. They are made from 4 separate parts (head, body, hands, and legs) which are made from one mold, then combined as one doll. As referred to in a previous article, the procedure includes 3~4 times of baking/heating, which takes a lot of time, but such effort will be rewarded later on. I remember one of my old friends to whom I have sent the cupid.
I bought the carriage at an antique shop fairly close to London called battlesbrige antique center which is about 2 hours by car. My teacher of doll-making in England, Mrs. V Dixon, told me about this antique shop.
I had many chances to visit there on Sundays, and I never got tired of seeing the shops. One lady at the shop said in order to make the items seem antique, she would put them outside in sunshine and wind/rain of England. This is a kind of "Aging" technique. The shopping is a very good memory of England!
今回はイギリスで見つけた購入品、アンティークドールを作っているとこうした周辺のものを探したり買ったりするのも楽しいものです。
最近は、バギーと呼んだりするんでしょうか、でもこの写真はまさに乳母車ですね。この乳母車、大きな人形をそばに置くとまるで押しているかのように見えます。６０cmくらいのサイズな結構大きなもので、今回の写真では小ぶりのキューピーの作品を二体置いてみました。
キューピーは３ポーズの作品があり、一つの型（モールド）からそれぞれ別のパーツ（顔・胴体・手・足）４つのパーツを型どり一体に仕上げていきます。前回の記事にあるようにそれぞれを３-４回焼成していくのに時間がかかりますが、時間や手間をかけるだけの幸せを届けてくれるキューピーです。プレゼントした友人が、その後出産したことを聞いた時にはとてもうれしく思いました。
この乳母車は、１９８５年頃ロンドンから車で２時間位北東にいったバトルスブリッジというところにあるアンティークショップが集まったエリア(Battlesbridge Antique Center)で買い求めた物です。この場所は私の先生であるイギリス人のMrs. V Dixonさんに教えてもらいました。
そこは毎日オープンしており、アンティークやクラフトなど色々あり何度訪れて歩いていても飽きません。ある女性の店主は、アンティーク風に見せるために、イングランドの雨や風にあて古い感じを出すために外に置いておくと話していました。いま流行りのエージングのはしりでしょうか。当時は日曜日には地方のアンティークショップを廻ってビスクドールに関係する品物 を探し始めるのに興味を持ち始めました。懐かしい思い出です。
Bisque-dolls are all hand made - ビスクの作り方
A frequently received question is whether a bisque doll is an already made product or a handmade doll. All my bisque dolls are produced at home. See photos for the processes. If I have a chance, I want to explain about the processes in detail, but as you can see, the processes require high level of handmade work. All molds are imported ones.
After first heating parts at 700C (1300F) (the parts are very fragile), the parts are painted and second heating/baking is at 1200C (2200F). Then the eye holes are punched out to the eye size. As you can see, the entire size shrinks - around 13.6% - to a final size. The 3rd heating/baking is at 700C again after painting the face color, then the 4th heating/baking is done after finalizing face. Then you get a cute face!
Bisque originally means "heating twice" - but for better quality I heat 4 times. In this kind of case/doll, the body has parts which allow some movement and you can see various impressions by moving the parts and changing the light effects.
(After attaching the eyes, the eyebrows are painted. The mold shown is a different mold. The one made by the mold is now exhibited and sold at Yokohama Doll museum).
ビスクドールが製品なのか手作りのものなのか意外とご存じない方が多いようです。佐久間ふみ子の作品は、すべて輸入の制作型を使った自宅でのまさにハンドメイド品です。
写真で大体の流れがわかるかと思いますが、700cで素焼きしたあと（とても壊れやすいです）、目のサイズに穴を開けた後1200cで本焼きをします。サイズが約13.6％も小さくなっているのがわかるかと思います。３度めの700cの前に肌色を塗り、最後の表情を書いたあとの700cでの仕上げ焼きで完成で、最終の表情とサイズになります。
ビスクは本来二度焼きという意味ですが、私の場合、丁寧に仕上げることと工程を分けるために都合４回焼いております。このケースでは、体は関節のついたボディーをとりつけるため、場所や光などに合わせて動かすことができ、表情が変わります。
